Financial independence progress reports and net worth updates are kinda’ my favorite. It’s super fun to see all the ways other people have crafted their financial independence retire early plan. Since I enjoy them so much, I thought I’d share my journey to financial independence.

So what’s my fire number? Well, my F.I.R.E. plan is a little different than some of the others out there (which, duh, EVERYONE’s fire journey is different.) Following the fire method isn’t one size fits all. There are so many paths people can take to fire financially independent retire early. And as a single female fire pursuer who’s trying to retire in my 40’s, my journey to financial independence is going to be very different than a young family’s fire journey, for instance.

On top of that, there are several versions of F.I.R.E.: fat fire, lean, fire, regular fire and all the shades in between. But I’m not making a decision about whether I’m pursuing fatfire, leanfire, or regular FIRE – I have plans for all three. Why? Better question: how can I retire early in ALL the different styles and what does that look like? What options become available to me in my life at each F.I.R.E. level? Those are the questions I care about most.
