Tropical cyclone Gamane made landfall in Madagascar on Wednesday. The northern and northeastern regions of Madagascar are hard hit by flooding with the presence of strong tropical storm Gamane. The latter causes incessant rainfall, leaving several towns under water.

Gamane evolved into tropical cyclone tonight. According to information from Météo Madagascar, it made landfall in the commune of Ampisikinana in the North of Madagascar at 5:45 a.m., with average winds estimated at 150 km/h and gusts reaching 210 km/h within a 40 km radius around its center.

THE heavy rain which have fallen for several days in the north-east of Madagascar have significantly disrupted the daily life of residents of the Sava region. Tuesday March 26, the water level increased in several neighborhoods of Vohémar, Sambava and Antalaha.
