'The Penguin' is what you get when you take virtually everything out of a character that makes them distinctive.

Colin Ferrell just vanishes into the role, which is a very difficult thing for an actor to do though he literally does when you add the excellent makeup.

The problem is that – on the face of things – there's very little to associate the character with The Penguin as most of us know him.
