Hello folks! Today I will show you a new restoration of a rusty cleaver, which is in poor condition. I bought it a long time ago, maybe a year ago. It was lying among the rest of the rusty tools and so on. But now his recovery time has come. Among other things, you will find an interesting test of this cleaver! Started the restoration.

First, I removed the old broken handle, rivets and placed the cleaver in a rust remover. After this process, I put it in a bucket with warm water and soda to neutralize the cleaning process with acid. Washed and dried.
Due to the fact that the entire back of the mesh was raised due to bumps, I used a chisel to remove large burrs.

Next, with the help of a sanding machine, I corrected the edges of the cleaver, and also made new bevels for it. The surface was not sanded, but only cleaned of dark spots and small scratches. Next, I sanded the cutting edge and slightly sharpened the blade.

The next step is the handle. I chose beech and steel rivets. After processing the handle, I soaked it with a special homemade paste for wood. Well, there hasn't been a test for a long time, today is the day. Enjoy watching, thank you for your attention! Smile right now!
