How To Clean ALLOY WHEELS - DetailingTheWhiteWay Series

► Process recap.
1 - Rinse and flush wheel arch well with pressure washer.
2 - With degreaser applied to inner arch and tyre, scrub!
3 - Rinse down the above and apply Auto-Wheel cleaner liberally (1 wheel at a time)
4 - After 2-3 minutes, start to agitate with a selection of brushes/mitts
5 - Rinse and repeat Auto-Wheel cleaner stage as required or until no further 'bleeding' is noticed.
6 - For tar deposits, allow chemical tar remover to dwell for 30-60 seconds. Wipe away with a damp, clean microfibre towel.
7 - Rinse again thoroughly to remove all residues and repeat process on remaining wheels.
8 - Wipe or blow dry to remove standing water from wheel and tyre.
9 - Apply favourite tyre dressing, wiping away any excess after application for fear of product sling
10 - Admire & go for a drive!

*NB - it helps to move the vehicle soon after a wash to dry off the brake discs (preventing them from rusting up, thus, sticking and subsequently misting your freshly detailed rims in a horrible orange dust the next time you drive the car)

PS - It's worth noting, this cleaning regime is suited for a 'deeper clean', not something you'd want to do every time perhaps... If your wheels are well protected, regular pH neutral car shampoo or a citrus APC (as above) will be fine. Using a 'fall out' removing wheel cleaner every quarter, 6 months or so dependent on vehicle's usage.
