Lets face it, Viruses are cheap shots. That's never been more apparent than what's currently happening. They aren't technically living but still perfectly capable of adapting. Without cells, viruses would probably fade away into nothingness. But this dependence on cells, doesn't mean they cant just totally wreck a meatsuit.
