AutoStore® is an innovative automated storage system for the storing and order picking of small parts in plastic bins. It was developed by Jacob Hatteland Computer AS in Norway. The system has its origin in the drive to optimize space utilization, dynamics, mechanical hardware requirements and the integration of workstations compared to mainstream
automated miniload warehouses served by stacker cranes or shuttles.

AutoStore’s compact design reduces space consumption by 75 %, eliminating aisles and storage racks. The bins are located in stacks on the floor. A rail system (grid) is installed above the stacks. Robots operate on the grid, picking up and sorting bins, with final delivery to the integrated port workstations for storage or order picking. T

he robots move by means of four perpendicular pairs of wheels in two directions, making it possible to access any position in the grid. They communicate with the central AutoStore controller via WLAN, assigning transport orders to the robots. In times of low order load or low battery level the robots autonomously navigate to the charging stations located at the edge of the grid. AutoStore is a modular system: the number of robots and workstations define the system throughput.

As an official AutoStore® distributor and global contractor, HÖRMANN Logistik also supplies the tailor-made HiLIS AS WMS, completing a turnkey solution, which can also lay out manual storage areas and additional processes. AutoStore may be applied as a standalone storage system, as well as a storage module in a global intralogistics concept. Support and maintenance is provided by the HÖRMANN Logistik service team, serving you 24/7, 365 days a year.
