If you're a 6-figure entrepreneur looking to scale your company, check out our Business Decision-Making Workshop. I will teach you the skills I used to scale Quest into a $1B company. Go to https://decision.impacttheory.com/app... to apply!

It took years of experience, getting it wrong and finding out what was right, for me to learn what it takes to be a leader. In this Q & A session, I share with you exactly what it takes to build a team that is inspired by your vision and clear on the path forward. Leaders establish the standards for their teammates to know what it means to be part of the team and they do so by elevating everyone around them. You have to build a culture that you are not above, but that you live by because you are in it. Leadership is not about perfection, it is about making progress. Leaders have to galvanize their teams in such a way that you empower and uplift the people around you. Leaders inspire their team to pursue greatness and remember they are not above any of the standards.

QUOTES:

“You never, and I mean, never let somebody outwork you.” [3:07]

“You intoxicate them with certainty, you lead by example, and you make their life better, because they're actually improving. They're being elevated. They're being held to a standard for sure, but they're improving, and they're making progress. That my friends is how you scale leadership.” [5:36]

“I've got to create an environment where people can speak to power, where they can tell me if they think something I'm doing is stupid. And I want them to talk nakedly raw, give it to me real” [7:05]

“you have to own your opinion, you have to speak up, or you have to get out. And we do not tolerate people that won't speak their mind.” [8:36]

“Any idea that can’t withstand criticism by nature is not a good idea. You've got a hunger for criticism to find out if your idea is good or not. You've got to seek disconfirming evidence. You shouldn't pursue yes men, you should pursue, as Abraham Lincoln said, a ‘team of rivals.’” [12:33]

“Moving forward is about the friction between styles of thinking, and you've got to covet that friction.” [13:15]

“Let's let these ideas fucking battle, and I don't want deference as the CEO” [13:58]

“There is no such thing as flawless leadership. So literally, you can just discard that idea.” [18:04]

“Be willing to play at that level every day, and yet not judge yourself if you're not there yet. Only judge yourself by the sincere pursuit of something,” [20:13]
