Hoke S. Glover III aka Brother Yao is a poet, author and businessman. He co-founded Karibu Books in 1992, one of the leading African-American bookstores in the country, the largest chain of African American bookstores until 2008. Brother Yao is currently a professor and Chair of the Language, Literature, and Cultural Studies department at Bowie State University.

V. Efua Prince is the author of Burnin’ Down the House, Daughter’s Exchange, and numerous essays including the award winning “June.” She is an Associate Professor of African American Studies at Wayne State University and has served as an Associate Professor of English and Black Studies and as director of Black Studies at Allegheny College, the Avalon Professor of Humanities at Hampton University, a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia’s Carter G. Woodson Institute, and a fellow at Harvard University’s W. E. B. Du Bois Institute. Both poets join us in the Black writer’s studio today to talk about their forthcoming book, Crazy as Hell.
