Wapsipinicon Mill is a landmark in Independence Iowa. It was built around 1854 by Samuel Sherwood. At first it was used as a flouring mill. It later became more economical to produce "Waspi" brand poultry and stock feed. The Wapsipincon Mill is open for tours during the summer months and it filled with history from years past.
