Hi everyone, welcome to my winter holiday #vlog! I hope you all had amazing holidays and a great beginning of the new year!

We left by car to Hungary on the second Xmas day - December 26, stayed overnight in Germany near Munich and then continued our trip though Austria and, eventually, Hungary, on the 27th.
We stopped for lunch at the Heiligenkreuz Abbey - we loved the homely atmosphere, and the food was simple but delicious. I had a “monk” soup, which is a staple food there, and it’s vegetarian!
Then we made it to Hungary, where our friends have a cabin in the mountains. We were supposed to get winter tired and snow chains, but in the end there was no snow and the temperature was +10.
When I said “a cabin”, I really meant it - it was a small house with a wood burner stove, so it was very cozy to make the fire and cook on the coals.
We spent several days in the cabin, and then went to Budapest for a day to do some sightseeing and eat at the xmas markets. We tried to get into the thermal baths in Budapest, but they were so busy that people were queueing in the street. After the New Year’s Eve, we got lucky and got into the water park known to locals.
Most of the days it was foggy in the morning and at night, so it was pretty scary to drive on the winding mountain roads. We made it back safely, although we got stuck in a two hour traffic jam in Germany! I got home completely drained and felt like I need another holiday after this one.
