Ferrell and Steele have know each other since their days at Saturday Night Live, and in the years after leaving SNL they’ve only become closer friends and collaborators. It’s a friendship that entered a new chapter when Steele recently transitioned, a journey they navigated with a roadtrip across the country, which they documented in film “Will & Harper.” The two old friends stopped by the IndieWire Studio, presented Dropbox, to talk why they decided to make the documentary, which premiered at Sundance to rave reviews and two standing ovations.
