A lawyer for Prince Andrew has appeared in a pre-trial hearing in New York to dismiss sexual assault claims against the Duke as "baseless, unviable and potentially unlawful".

The hearing looked at whether the Duke was properly served with the lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre, the woman who has launched a civil lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault.
