Hey, everyone! Welcome to the first tutorial in our series on integrating Stripe with Glide to process payments in your marketplace. In this video, we'll walk you through setting up Stripe to sell subscriptions and manage content visibility in your Glide dashboard based on the users' subscription status.

First, we'll outline our high-level plan: our users (students) can log into Glide, purchase a subscription through a buy button that we add, which will then be processed by Stripe. Stripe will assign a subscription ID and status, which we'll then save in our central database, Airtable. This will then sync with Glide and depending on the users' subscription status at any given time, we can show or hide different elements in our Glide portal.

Next, we dive into the practical application. We'll be adding a subscription to our students, where a student will sign up to a 'free' or 'premium' plan. Once they make a purchase, we will set up a workflow that changes their plan status from 'free' to 'premium'. You can even create additional tiers to your plans for more flexibility.

To implement this, we'll set up conditional visibility in Glide, using the plan status from Airtable to show or hide premium content. We walk you through this process using a live example, showing you how to adjust visibility on both individual components and entire tables.

By the end of this video, you'll have the foundation for a functional, subscription-based system that can show or hide premium content based on user subscriptions. But, this is just the beginning! We'll be exploring more complex use cases in future videos.
