Sightings of the creature, and stories of alleged encounters were widespread, stories of appearing out of nowhere and vanishing without a trace, scaring locals, and even mass destruction. In no time at all, the cryptid was widely known for its chilling appearance and acts of horror, but everyone wanted to know...just what was Mothman?
