Converted my 94 LT1 T56 to LS style by swapping the input shaft, front plate/mid plate, and bell housing to LS1 parts.
Lots of people do this swap to use the earlier, cheaper 93-97 trans behind a truck LR4/LM7/LQ4, etc. I'm using it behind a 4.8 for my Beretta RWD swap.
I had two trans to convert so I could run a Tick-built LT trans in my Camaro and the stocker in my Beretta. But here are the parts to swap LT style to LS:
