Fence Video:    • DIY Privacy Fence | How to build a Fe...

This DIY project was the last step in the 2 year renovation on my side yard. I share the progress that I have made over the past 2 years. Trees were cut down, stumps removed, french drain installed, fence extended (   • DIY Privacy Fence | How to build a Fe...  ) and now the landscaping is completed.

In this video I share how to create privacy using landscaping. Using Emerald Green Arborvitae, tall grasses, hostas, rock, and mulch I complete my landscaping makeover. I really believe this is a project that most people can do it yourself.

I used the Emerald Green Arborvitae because it does not grow to be as large as other types like the Green Giant. These trees should only reach a max height of around 12 to 15 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. The way that I have planted them they should never touch but will add a lot of privacy. Then the tall grasses were planted in the open areas and will also help provide privacy. They will grow to around 4 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. I then used large boulders to break up the hill and add texture and different colors. Some rocks I dug into the hill and others were placed on the surface. Other plants include hostas and a smaller juniper.

Overall I am very pleased with the results. I believe in the next few years this area will continue to develop and look even better. I’m also curious what you think, leave it in the comments below. Thanks for watching!
