Tim's flat is full of toys, and sometimes he finds toys hiding away under his bed, or in the cupboard under the stairs. However in this video he shows some toys that have been sitting around in plain sight!

A book that you can deconstruct, and create six different books!

From a camping store, a special bundle of sticks - this wood has so much naturally occurring resin that it can act as a firelighter! He bought it from the Orvis outdoors store in Piccadilly, central London.

A vinyl record that has been recycled into a fruit bowl. Or is it a bread basket?

Then leaves from a tree that have been moulded into small dishes. Tim thinks these came from Asia. Of course after you had used them, you can just recycle them!

Then a toy Tim constructed about 30 years ago. Called an OCTAbug, made by The Bug Group in the USA, it is a topological toy which opens and closes in an intriguing fashion.

Then, from a Gathering For Gardner about 5 years ago, an origami kind of construction involving a number of sheets of paper. It appears as a 5 pointed star that opens into a ring. Very elegant!

Then a cardboard toy called an INVER-FLEX. When you fold and flex it, it appears rather like a kaleidoscope. Tim thinks he got this about 30 years ago.

Finally a knitting machine toy from the Mattel toy company, originally patented in the 1970s. KNIT MAGIC is the name on the box. When Tim first bought the machine, he knitted a scarf for himself!
