For the last few trains of this day, I moved to the grade crossing at Sandy Point Road, just west of Salmon Arm, BC. So far as I can tell, this is the nearest location, west of Salmon Arm, where trains whistle for a crossing.
CP8795 is the lone leader of this string of containers headed west. KCSM4677 is running mid-train with CP8626 on the rear. With the sun low enough, I am able to video from the north-side of the track. The complete location is the Sandy Point Road grade crossing in Salmon Arm at Mile 66.8 of the CPKC Shuswap Subdivision.
If you go to Google, select Maps and paste in 50°44'00.9"N 119°18'53.1"W you'll see the location of the camera for this video.
