Frazier and Ali, Jordan and Bird, Charlie Brown and the kite eating tree, epic rivalries make life interesting. Ever since the man who’s the best at what he does and what he does isn’t nice met the ever lovin’ green machine in the pages of a certain comic book, Marvel’s two rage monsters have had a number of dust ups with ever increasing levels of savagery. Whether the two cross paths as a result of their mutual love for isolation and apparently the same tastes in places to go where they won’t run into anybody or if it’s because someone thinks that sending two unstoppable rage machines straight at each other will somehow work out this time, any time Big Green and Small Yellow meet even if they can foster a temporary peace it still ends with a lot of smashy smashy and slicey slicey. Even in alternate realities the two can’t find a way to get along. Like a lot of people that can’t get along it’s their similarities that make it so difficult to find common ground. They’re both outsiders due in large part to their destructive nature. They’re both nearly impossible to kill. Of course most notably they both are prone to anger that increases their destructive tendencies. There’s a third member of the rivalry but he was only ever a distraction and Wendigo was quickly dropped from the band like he was Stu Sutclif. What’s your favorite superhero throwdown?
