This test administered no more than 1-2 teaspoons worth of the blood, as its entire purpose is purely to see if there are any undesired effects from the blood in the system. Which is common in a clinical trial. The bulk of blood transfusions will always rely on people regularly rolling up their sleeve to donate. But the ultimate goal is to manufacture vital, but ultra-rare, blood groups that are hard to get hold of.
