This was our first stay in Nashville Tennessee and it did not disappoint! There are so many things to see and do. Because of Desi, some things we were not able to do (Grand Ole Opry and visiting the bars are the two big ones) but it gives us something to look forward one day in the future. But, there was still so many things to keep us busy on our two week stay.

We visited at one of the least busy times of the year - November 2023. We chose Elm Hill RV Resort as our place to camp and well, we had one week booked and ended up staying until they closed down for the season. It was definitely one of our favorite stays. Visiting in late Nov meant we had the place almost to ourselves the last few days. And spending Thanksgiving day eating dinner overlooking the lake with a fire going is not a bad way to spend it! Look for an upcoming review video.

Now - Nashville! A few tips. First, it is a city and with that comes traffic. Troy and I joked that everything seemed to be "20 mins away"! But, you do need to pick your travel times - rush hour can mean spending some time sitting on the highways.

Second - if you are going downtown, expect to pay to park just about anywhere you go. Finding a spot and paying online was the easiest. We could adjust the time of arrival / departure and we knew we had a spot when we arrived. Troy also had to pay to park at Carter Vintage Guitars and the Gibson Garage but Gruhn did have its own parking. And Tailgate Brewery was another parking fee.

Third - make use of the trolleys! There was only one that was dog friendly - Music City Brew Hop - but we ran out of time and good weather days. But, there are a number of trolley tours downtown that do hop on / hop off and are a good way to see the city without having to move and pay parking at different spots.

Four - make sure to get out of town some. We loved our day visiting the Loveless Cafe and the Natchez Trace parkway. It would be a great way to spend the day with the kids as they hunt for the next stop! (we only did some of them). But, we did find ourselves coming back around 5pm on a weekday so see tip #1! And while we didn't, this would be a good way to combing Franklin Tennessee as a stop for dinner.

If you have visited Nashville, we would love to hear your favorites! We will be back quite a bit in the future as this is one day travel from NC and a great layover on our trips out west.

As always - thanks for watching and Happy Camping!
