Like anything mechanical, hip replacements can wear out and fail. If this happens, it might have to be taken out and a new one put in. This is called revision surgery. The components that we've used for the last few years are 'modular'. They can have bits of them changed, rather than the whole thing being removed. This saves a lot of time, stress and complications! Many thanks to my loyal viewer Lee who asked about this.
