I was very lucky today to have Herman Mashaba join me in my studio for a second round interview. When he first visited in August 2020, he had not yet officially formed Action SA, or officially become registered with the IEC. With this in mind, I asked Herman to join me again and share what he had been up to over the last five or six months.

I have been quite vocal about my frustration with the ANC. By all objective measures, the ruling party has failed this nation terribly and we need an infusion of new blood into the political landscape. I am not scared to say that I am a big fan of Herman, because I believe in what he stands for, and I believe his track record backs up that he will do what he says he will do.

Like most of you, I am a patriotic South African, and I just want to see this country fulfill its full potential. I long for a day when our crime levels drop, our employment numbers increase, corruption is a forgotten topic, service delivery is effective and efficient, our electricity grid is stable, our economy is growing consistently, we are no longer the most unequal nation on earth, our country's brightest minds no longer want to leave, and we are truly proud to call ourselves South African.

This country is filled with potential, and we have so much going for us, but we cannot move forward under the rule of the ANC. If you take race-based politics and emotion out of the equation, and you simply look at the facts, you will see this to be true!

I hope this interview gives you some insight into a man that is genuinely trying to change South Africa for the better. Keep in mind, Herman has made his money and he could easily sit back and live the good life. Instead, he puts himself in the firing line and tried to make a difference so that he can go to sleep at night with a clear conscience.

Like all human beings, Herman may have his faults and it is not my aim to label him as a saviour, but he's a good man with good intentions, a solid brain, and he's prepared to take action.
