Melbourne hosts it's gay pride event every summer with a carnival in the park. It's part of the Midsummer series (a month long event showcasing LGBT activities). Carnival was held on Sunday, January 22nd in Alexander Gardens along the Yarra river.

It's a day where people meet in the park and explore stalls, booths, and various shows/performances. Melbournians often take along food and drink and enjoy a picnic in the shade.
