Now one of the San Francisco Peninsula's most beautiful and desirable neighborhoods, The Easton Addition started out as a tiny small farm town by the name of Easton. In 1905, the enormous Black Hawk Ranch was subdivided by Ansel Mills Easton and given the name of Easton. Originally, this land was bordered by California Drive, the Pacific Coast Range Foothills, what is now Hillsborough to the South, and what is now Ray Park to the North. Later the land east of El Camino was developed by other developers and giving names such as Burlingame Terrace, Burlingame Grove. Upon annexation to the town of Burlingame, Easton became The Easton addition, and unlike a lot of names that have fallen into obscurity, the name Easton addition has risen in prominence as The Easton Addition developed into the beautiful neighborhood it is today.

The Easton Addition saw its greatest boom during the 1920's and it's architecture reflects the era, shingled craftsman's, East coast Colonials, English Tudors, every Mediterranean vernacular. Today, many of the pre-1920's homes have been replaced with homes that resemble closely the architecture of the 20's and 30's. In the early 1900s, under the supervision of John McLaren, the landscape architect of Golden Gate Park, the streets in The Easton Addition were planted with rows of Sycamores, Gums, magnolias that now spread their leafy canopies over the narrow streets. With the mountain backdrop and treetop glimpses of the San Francisco Bay, it is hard to imagine a more stunning environment than the Easton Addition. The desirability of the Easton Addition is such that building sites start at 2 million, and new homes are now pushing against 6 million, with many homes in between.
