Tim Burgess, Liam Fray and Lisa Stansfield are amongst those talking about the impact northern music has had at the Northern Music Awards.

Organised by music therapy charity Nordoff & Robbins, the event celebrated, as the name suggested, the best in northern music from large-scale venues to breakthrough acts.

Held at the Albert Hall in Manchester, the first ever Northern Music Awards featured performances from English Teacher, Courteeners’ frontman Liam Fray, The K's, Antony Szmierek, and Lisa Stansfield.

They spoke ahead of the awards about the impact of northern music on them and the world.
