Having trouble getting your indexed gears working properly? It's not always cable adjustment that is required to make them function correctly.

In this tutorial I will show you other problems there might be getting the gears to index which are cable related. It's very important the cables are in tip top condition to get super function. If they are not it can cause catastrophic failure of other components in the gear system. This is especially true of modern road bikes where the cables run under the handlebar tape. This puts alot of strain on the cable nipples making them prone to breakage. It only takes a few minutes to check them and should be done periodically.

This applies to all manufacturers' gear systems regardless of whether it is a road bike or a mountain bike. Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo, they all work on exactly the same principal. This method applies to all of them.
