Gigafactory Texas on 13 September 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

Another busy day of tremendous progress at Giga Texas!

Despite Hurricane Nicholas bearing down on Texas, I was able to get a lot of dawn and early morning images and videos ... a little rain but not too bad!

The big news today is the first New Tesla Employee on-boarding day at the factory … we see new entry control areas with signs for Tesla employees, west side parking lots getting ready for the new employees and looking into the 2nd floor of the GA building “cafeteria” area, we see “Welcome” balloons and tables arranged for the new employees! Another milestone day at Giga Texas!

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- There is a new "Tesla Employees Only" section on the west side, complete with entry control points and security.
- We look inside the well-lit 2nd and 3rd floor windows on the GA west side and even see a "Welcome" section set up in the "cafeteria" presumably for new employees arriving this morning!
- The north alley steel assembly and space frames are now completed, and we see floor & roof decking being installed.
- More roof HVAC work on the battery cell structure, including about 6 more areas marked for potential cutting of large rectangular holes.
- In the casting area, we see the roof is now completely covered with poured concrete and there a great deal of work on the two new Giga Press foundations, including setting the frames & pouring more concrete. Also, the “bridge” rood to the paint shop is about ¾ completed. Finally, we see a huge number of Model Y castings temporarily stored in the NE area.
- On the west side we also see many more large glass panels installed and preparations to do a lot more later today, if the weather from Hurricane Nicholas holds off.
- In the central area, we see heavy work on the huge column footings, including more forms and concrete being poured. We also see new footings on the shoulder area as well.
- More storm water pipe installation on the south end of the General Assembly structure and, under the south bridge.
- We see a large area just to the east of the Body-in-White structure getting rebar ahead of a large driveway concrete pour. This area defines how the roadways on this side will go around the large powerline tower bases!
- The storage area just north of the small water detention pond is being cleared out of all trailers, equipment, and vehicles, most likely moving farther to the east large staging area.
