ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr updated Canberrans today on the Doherty Institute's modelling discussed in yesterday's National Cabinet briefing.

He says it shows abandoning lockdown at a 70 per cent fully vaccinated rate "would not be prudent", especially for jurisdictions with active cases.

"Concerns had been raised at previous National Cabinet meetings about the scenarios presented in the August Doherty modelling technical report," he said.

Mr Barr says if the ACT were to lift lockdown restrictions upon reaching a 70 per cent vaccination rate, but experienced an outbreak similar to the one it was experiencing now, the jurisdiction could expect to see cases peak at about 2,500 cases per day.
