Thanks for stopping by and checking out this video. In this vid I briefly chat about some of the upcoming mods i'm planning on doing on the car including:

1. A decatted downpipe to help the exhaust gases flow a bit more freely, alleviate back pressure on the turbo, improve responsiveness and add that awesome exhaust note.

2. Uprated air intake to help the car breath a bit better, flow more air and run more boost in future. Still a bit undecided about the closed or open style intakes. Quite like the VWR600 intakes simply because they have such a nice neat OEM look to them but definitely also love an open style intake just because it's so much louder.

3. Uprated intercooler to drop intake temps and run more timing and boost.

The main feature of this video however is me visiting SRSpeedworx out in Germiston, South Africa to find out just how much power my 2016 Audi S3 is making with the JB4 fitted.

For the purposes of this video, i first ran the car in stock (Map 0) mode to find out what the stock power values are. Then I ran the car in the Map 2 on pump fuel (95 octane). I then finally added some OB1 octane booster to the tank and re-ran the car in Map 2 to see how much extra power the car could extract without any further tinkering or adjustment of boost etc.

For those of you who don't know the OB1 website provides the following info:

"OB1 is a high performance fuel additive specially formulated to increase the octane of the base fuel, boosting Power and Torque and promoting cleaner burning and smoother running. OB1 allows you to take advantage of more aggressive tuning, allowing more ignition advance, higher compression and higher boost on turbocharged engines. By simply adding OB1 to 95 octane unleaded allows you to effectively run ‘race fuel’ on demand. Ensure safer running of your performance tuned engine, by reducing the chance of harmful detonation and allowing the engine to operate at optimal levels."

The following mix ratios are typically used for various applications:

"Aggressive tunes, high boost pressures & 'race files': 5 litre OB1 to 20 litres 95 [1:4] This ratio has been tested to fully support the octane needs of a 104 octane file Vehicles requiring a more moderate octane boost (98 - 100 RON): 5 litre OB1 to 25 litres 95 [1:5]"

I was pleasantly surprised with the gains made from both the JB4 and OB1 using a ratio of about 1:5 in this particular instance.

Check out the vid to see just how much power the streetbeast is making with ONLY the JB4 fitted!
