Tensions between Pathfinder and Buran reach an all-time high. Commander Ed Baldwin, who's in an emotionally vulnerable state after a recent clash with his wife, currently sees the entire situation with Sea Dragon and Buran as a black and white scenario, which requires Sally Ride to convince him by any means necessary to not fire on Buran so as to avoid starting all-out war back on Earth.
