Director Monte Hellman (1929-2021) was co-editor on Sam Peckinpah's 1975 film The Killer Elite. Later he gave Peckinpah a small acting role in his western China 9, Liberty 37 (1978) that also features Warren Oates. Hellman is introduced by Sam's assistant Katy Haber.
