High profile lay-offs, plunges in market value and existential questions about user bases have created doubts around the long-term futures of giants such as Meta and Amazon.

Then there's regulation. Growing concerns over tax, antitrust and privacy have seen several legal cases mount against Google, Apple and others, while in China, a major government backlash has hit the country’s major tech players in several ways.

Is it all just a bump in the road amid wider economic uncertainty, or is something deeper going on?
