Time to test out my second action cam with some UK/England hyperlapse/timelapse 4K driving footage whilst discussing if the Hyundai IONIQ Electric EV is still a relevant car in 2019... This is as far more battery-electric vehicle options are appearing than ever before!

I show a round trip of 74 miles (120 km) returning with 56% indicated state-of-charge (SOC) remaining on the IONIQ's battery. On the return leg I had some light heating use, and temperatures that day were between 2C to 6C in the morning, peaking at 12C, cooling of to 5C later. I was driving at (legal) motorway/highway speeds on the M60/M62 for about a third of this journey.

What do you think though? Are Gen 1.0/1.5 EVs like our IONIQ long-in-the-tooth? Or are they still capable of meeting pretty much all your needs and wants, pretty much all the time...?

Please share your thoughts in the comments; subscribe if you'd like to see more videos from me and... bye for now!

P.S. Let me know if you can see a difference with this 4K upload... Happy to settle on that if it seems better than my previous mix of 1080p and some 4K... ;)
