Here’s a video featuring the collection of a now famous, rare fossil dinosaur footprint! This is one of the largest and best-preserved footprints from this type of dinosaur ever found, featuring potentially unique features. As this specimen is important for science, we were called upon by Palaeontologist Dr Dean Lomax to help collect this incredible fossil, since it was stuck far along a boulder field in an immense slab. The fossil was found by Rob Taylor and Marie Woods, who we met on the day. We also met other Palaeontologists down at the beach and after several hours of reducing the size of the slab so that it was able to be carried, we successfully completed the task of carrying it back across the boulder field to safety.
