I've been in the entertainment field for close to thirty years whether in radio, as an owner of a mobile DJ company, radio producer, club/bar jock, or nightclub manager, music has always been the driving force for success.

I started my career as a hanger at a college radio station, then got my opportunity to be a part of the show reading news. Then I began to have business relations with the host, now the host was only 15 years old and had a high profile show on Saturday nights. He saw I didn't appreciate the alter, but I knew good music.

We joined a record pool, and he let me keep the dance, which turned into a 30-minute show featuring new dance music. In which became a favorite even to those that didn't like that genre. Then, that turned into a morning show during the summer.

I left and became a party jock and still kept the same philosophy; you cannot avoid the hits, but you can always educate with new. I would get a surprise some of the bands coming to the bar to show their support.

Now I've been away but notice its time to dust off that ear and go on the mission to find good solid dance music instead of the cookie-cutter crap they are playing on today's radio station.
