In this video, I take a look at how the Adventures of Superman, Star Trek, and the 1966 Batman shared the same set location that was used on the Andy Griffith Show. The Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves used it before it became Mayberry several times as Superman's city Metropolis. Batman and Robin chased the villain False Face through Mayberry in the Batmobile and right past Gomer Pyle's barracks.

The original 60's Star Trek used the set four times at least once as post-apocalyptic city. Once Wiliam Shatner as Captain Kirk and Joan Collins even strolled past Floyd's barber shop that still had Floyd's sign. The Adventures of Superman even had a few guest stars that would one day be citizens of Mayberry like the mayor played by Dick Elliott, Maudie Prickett, and Fred Sherman who was Mayberry's dry cleaner.

The Andy Griffith Show starred Griffith as And Taylor and Don Knotts as Barney Fife. It left the air at number one and has been in re-runs ever since. It's probably one of the most popular shows in history. The town of Mayberry was actually a part of the RKO Forty Acres lot that was a part of movies like Gone with the Wind, King Kong, and Tarzan movies.
