Lone Mountain Trail is actually located just north of the Las Vegas suburb of Summerlin, which is about 15-20 mins from the strip (it's also about a 10 min drive from Red rock Canyon). You may hear: Lone Mountain Park, Lone Mountain Trail, and Lone Mountain, they are all one of the same, located at the same place.

Think of the Lone Mountain Trail, as the baby sister of the big brother Red Rock Canyon, thats why the name, because this mountain stands "aLone" separate from the rest of Red Rock. The trail is a quick hike up, roughly 560 feet above ground, and you can get beautiful 360 views of the valley (and yes, at night the Las Vegas Strip lights up in the distance), it's really breath taking your first time up. Overall its a really easy hike, but I would recommend a dedicated hiking shoe because you do encounter a good amount of loose rocks on the way down.

The best thing about Lone Mountain, its a trail, a mountain and also a park. If hiking is not your thing, its easy walking around the mountain where you will see many people jogging, walking and even horseback riding.

The park has plenty of open green space, many covered picnic areas, bbq grills and recreational areas through out. If thats not enough there is also three playgrounds, basketball courts and tennis courts.

Lone Mountain is a great alternative to Red Rock Canyon, if you're looking for views relaxation and fresh air. In general, you cant lose this is a beautiful, family friendly, quite, safe and relaxing place no matter what outdoor activities you plan to do
