Microphones have specifications that tell us how they respond to their environments and the sound pressure waves coming at them, one of these specifications is frequency response. But how can we measure the frequency response of a mic? In this video—which comes from Berklee Online’s Microphone Techniques for Live Sound Production course by Ken “Pooch” Van Druten and Ben Cochran—instructor ​​(and microphone designer) Ben Cochran walks you through the process, measuring the Audio-Techinca’s AT4050 inside an anechoic chamber located in the North American headquarters of Audio-Technica.
