Are there reasons why you should not join consulting? In this video I am sharing horror stories and mental health issues that you might face in consulting. Do not get me wrong - overall I truly believe that consulting is a great career choice for many graduates out there. Though working in consulting has downsides as well, and I do want to give you the full picture on my channel. The consulting business model relies on consultants working a lot. Based on my experiences in IT consulting and MBB consulting, as well as friends working in MBB (e.g. BCG or Bain) and Big 4 firms (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte), I am sharing the downsides of working in consulting. Mental health in consulting is important and you need to build resilience strategies. Do not work in consulting without understanding these challenges. May was mental health awareness month so let's take this seriously!
