2023 MAY 04, Thurs, 72°F -- A day in Barcelona's L'Eixample district. A carefully planned New Town just beyond the Old City wall. A ritzy "uptown" neighborhood where you can find upscale shops, restaurants/bars and many modernist architectures. Walk along Sagrada Familia in Avinguda Gaudí to Passeig de Gràcia to Barcelona's Golden Quarter (Quadrat d'Or) from Plaça de Catalunya, and enjoy the many Modernista buildings, each competing for your attention, esp the ones along "The Block of Discord" - Casa Lleó Morera, Casa Mulleras, Casa Bonet, Casa Amatller and Casa Batlló. While in the neighborhood, we had the opportunity to watch the free premier night of Refik Anadol's Living Architecture : Casa Batlló. What a stroke of luck!!
