Despite only being around for eight years, Abbvie is considered to be a member of the dividend aristocrat group. The reason for this is because Abbvie is actually a spin off company of Abbott Laboratories, which is also considered a dividend aristocrat, after continually increasing their dividends for more than 49 consecutive years.

Abbvie is a pharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, manufactures, and sells pharmaceuticals internationally. They have a long list of medications they offer that treat various illnesses including autoimmune and intestinal diseases, plaque psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, leukemia, pancreatic issues, low testosterone, pancreatic cancer, chronic constipation, and the list goes on and on.

Abbvie employs over 47,000 people worldwide and treats over 52 million people in over 175 countries every single year. They’re headquartered in North Chicago, but have 22 primary research and manufacturing facilities around the world. According to their website, they currently produce 32 different treatments as of the making of this video. What Abbvie also does is use their existing treatments and expand them into new treatment areas, which helps diversify their product line.
