October is the Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Domestic violence affects women (& men) of all cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds. Due to the taboo nature of the subject, Muslims are often reluctant to report or speak out about their experiences. The responses to incidents of domestic violence are also varied as the community is diverse.
