A survey ITV News commissioned found more than half of British people are struggling to pay utility bills, with many borrowing money just to buy everyday essentials.

Charities describe those falling into debt as a "new wave of people" -- people under the cosh of soaring inflation, massive energy bills and rising interest rates.
