In a nutshell what Lexus did is snag the 300+ horsepower plug in hybrid system from the RAV4 prime and jam it under the hood of the mid-size Lexus SUV and the combo is quite simply the best RX around. Despite the power ratings and the numbers, the plug in hybrid RX is just as fast and handles just as well as the RX 500h F-Sport but the engine and transmission are smoother and quieter and the fuel economy is at least 10 MPG better. So why have the RX 500? Honestly, I'm not sure.
