The Apollo missions were something that expanded human knowledge of our closest neighbor, Luna, beyond what we previously thought. We actually figured out the moon wasn't made of cheese which was a plus. However, thee was a species on the moon prior to our arrival that appeared hostile based on our interactions which stopped the Apollo missions.
