So Ford didn’t reveal the Bronco Raptor last week on the eve of the 2021 SEMA Show. Instead, it was the $200,000+, Coyote V8-powered Ford Bronco DR race truck. But that’s not to say that the Ford Bronco Raptor has been a secondary priority. Far from. And a week to the day exactly after the Baja 1000-bound racer was revealed, The Bronco Nation posts these teaser photos of the 2022 Bronco Raptor taken at Holly Oaks ORV Park, lightly covered with (seemingly pointless) camo tape around the body panels. This is the world’s best look yet.

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is expected to be available next summer, and is expected to feature a larger displacement, high-output EcoBoost V6 engine that exudes around 450 horsepower. That’s not quite as high as the Jeep Wrangler 392, but that power figure is identical with that of the 3.5L high-output EcoBoost engine in the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, which also comes with a rippin’ 510 lb-ft of torque. That would be far and away a class leading figure. And since we know that a Coyote V8 can comfortably sit inside the engine bay of a Bronco, why not the engine from the new Raptor pickup truck?
