Today I'll be comparing two of today's  most popular electric crossovers. The Tesla Model Y and the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Mustang Mach-E I present you is the California Route 1, it sits below the Mach-E GT but above the Mach-E Premium, at least price wise. Subs constantly ask me how I feel about comparing The Mustang Mach E vs Tesla Model Y so I decided to get my hands on this Electric Mustang to give you my honest opinion.

   • TESLA MODEL Y OWNER's Review. 1000 mi...

In my review of my Tesla Model Y Performance I told you I don't find the front end too attractive. That is not the case with the Mach E as it has accent lines that remind you of the Mustang and that is a good thing. In the front end area I believe the Mach E to be the winner. I like and prefer the Dash to axle ratio of the Mustang Mach E over the one of the Model Y. I also prefer the aesthetic appearance of the full LED headlights of the Ford Mustang Mach E. They both provide excellent illumination when driving at night, but I prefer the look of the ones on the Mach E.
Exterior dimensions are almost the same size: The Mach E is 185.6" long, The Model Y is 187.
I like the painted cladding of the Mustang Mach E, a feature you won't find on any trim level of the Tesla Model Y
Ground clearance (bad for a crossover)5.8" Mach E 6.6" Model Y
I prefer the wheel and tire choices of the Model Y, its base model has 19x9.5 rims while the Mustang Mach-E 18 comes with anemic 18's."
I don't care about the door handles of neither vehicle but I dislike the Mustang Mach E's less.
Rear ends, I like the rear end of the Model Y better, it appears to be wider because of how the roof lines tuck in. However, I prefer the taillights of the Mustang Mach E: 3 lamp all LED better sequential lights than the Model Y.
Rear window wiper: Mach E has one, the Model Y doesn't.
Hardly any Ford logos anywhere on the Mach E, contrary to the Model Y that has no nameplates, only Tesla Logos throughout.
Mustang has a privacy cover, the Model Y doesn't
Cargo capacity: 29.7 cu ft Mustang 35 cu ft Model Y (estimated)
Interior: Seating position, very good both vehicles. Both cars seat 4 comfortably, and a fifth one uncomfortably.
visibility: the rear window on the Mach E offers better visibility.
Interior room, very similar. The seats are more comfortable on the Model Y, has heated seats front and back, the base Mustang Mach E doesn't. The Model Y rear seats recline, the Mach E's don't.
Steering wheels: I prefer the fit and finish of the Model Y's.
Center Screens: The Model Y's is faster but it doesn't have Apple CarPlay or android auto. The stock sound system on the Model Y is way better than the one on the Mustang Mach E and that many other premium brands' even in their upgraded versions.
The Ford Mustang Mach E has more physical controls so the drive may be less distracting than that of the Tesla Model Y.
The Mustang Mach E has a 360 camera, the Tesla Model Y doesn't.
I prefer the Autopilot system in the Model Y, more precise. I also prefer the single pedal driving of the Model Y than that of the Mach E.
Center consoles: I prefer the cleaner look of the Model Y. The Model Y has 2 cordless charger pads, the Mach E only 1.
Interior designs: I prefer the interior of the Model Y BUT the Mach E has a center small screen that I wish the Model Y had.
The carpet on the Mach E is nicer than the one on the Model Y but the rest of the materials I prefer the quality of the Model Y.
the cabin of the Mustang Mach E has less road noise but more rattles and squeaks than that of the Model Y. I also noticed some minor wind noise in the Mach E that my Model Y doesn't have.
Motors displacement (basic entries) Mach E 266 hp/317 lb-ft Model Y 384 hp/376.
Battery: Mach E 68 kWh Model Y 75 kWh
Range: Mach E 211 miles and up to 300 depending on battery pack. Model Y 326 Long Range, 303 Performance
Paint color choices: 5 Tesla Model Y, Mach E 6.
Trim level choices:  Model Y: Extended Range, Performance
MachE 4: Select, Premium, California Route 1, GT
Price: Basic Model Y starts at $53000
Basic Mach E starts at $43000 (qualifies for the Federal Tax Credit of $7500
(Comparatively equipped the Model Y and the Mustang Mach-E are about the same price)
I omitted these stats on the video because it got too long.
