We were asked to look at a privately purchased 60Ah BMW i3 before it is exported out of the UK.

Our inspection has uncovered quite a number of issues - ranging from the common ones, like split front damper gaiters, missing jacking pad, and chipped LED repeater in the wing mirror, all the way to split motor mounts!

Given the age of the vehicle, the motor mounts and motor brackets had to be replaced with the revised parts (featuring bigger bolts and full metal construction instead of plastic on one side).

The total bill of authorised repairs came to approximately £3k, giving the customer a peace of mind that the i3 is now safe to drive on the road. However, if we were retailing the car, it would still require a lot more work - namely to address the cosmetic issues (chipped door, cracked front bumper, etc.) but also replacing the non-OE brake discs and properly fixing the heated seats, among others.
